Welcome to the New Mexico Adventure Racing Club!
The NMARC formed early in 2004 to foster the knowledge and skills among our club, from beginners to advanced racers, to successfully participate in the growing sport of Adventure Racing. NMARC organizes training and social events, as well as intra-club races to develop our individual and team skills. We are a non-profit organization and raise money through club dues, fundraising events, and sponsorships.
The Sport of Adventure Racing
Adventure racing is composed of several different sports or disciplines such as trail running, mountain biking, paddling, climbing, repelling, mountaineering, orienteering and other adventurous sports. The number of disciplines in a race varies from just two or three to many depending on the race’s length and location. Typically, these races are completed by teams of two to four members that are required to complete the entire race together.
